Who says California doesn't enjoy the same vibrant colors of the east coast? Our burst of beauty just comes later in the season, as evidenced by this shot I took today on an early morning walk with Olivia on the Iron Horse Trail.
"How silently they tumble down,
and come to rest upon the ground.
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care.
Content to sleep, their work well done.
Colors gleaming in the sun."
